Every provider on file, not a curated ten. Filter by reliability band, by where a company is registered, by the features it ships and by what it actually charges — monthly and yearly, separately. Both published scores travel with every row.

Filter and sort state lives in the URL, so a filtered list is linkable and shareable: /rank?band=acceptable&kill-switch=1&sort=sec-desc. Providers with no published value for a sorted field sort last in both directions — missing data never wins a sort.

Providers 1–68

Ordered by the security score, the same number the rank on the homepage is derived from. Both dials run the full 0–100 scale: the big one is security, the small one usability, and neither is folded into the other.

Where two providers score the same on security, the higher usability score is listed first, and the name settles what usability cannot — the second and third keys break ties, they do not enter the ranking.

The newest score moves

The four figures the model publishes — both scores, the security band, the usability state — every time one of them moved. Rank is not among them: it is derived by sorting, never stored, so a position that changed is a consequence rather than an entry.

Every change ever made

The same records read across the register rather than one at a time: the register report puts the distributions in tables, and the change log carries every correction with its date.

Protection: below average

The provider's key privacy claims are backed by evidence, and an independent audit has checked them.Most of what matters is confirmed and nothing on record rules the provider out, but some gaps remain.More is unconfirmed than confirmed. Nothing scandalous, but not enough to recommend.What is known mostly counts against the provider, or almost nothing about it can be confirmed.Ruled out: the provider was caught lying about what it does, or its app sends other people's traffic through its users' devices.
