How this site makes money, what that can and cannot buy, and where the line is drawn — in the machinery rather than in a promise.
Some links here may be affiliate links: if you subscribe to a provider after clicking one, that provider may pay us a commission at no additional cost to you. Paid placement may be sold later — a labelled block above the ranking, outside the order — on the terms set out below.
Neither arrangement touches a score, a rank or a sentence of a review. Both scores are computed from published evidence on a documented model, and there is no mechanism by which an editor could move a computed score even if someone asked.
Nothing. No outbound link carries an affiliate parameter, no placement has been sold, and the site has no block to put one in: nothing of the kind is built. The terms below are published in advance rather than the week money starts arriving, so they can be held against us from the first deal onwards.
A provider link that pays a commission looks exactly like one that does not. Both go through /go/<slug>, both are counted the same way, and neither is ordered differently because of it. What we record when you click is listed in the privacy policy.
A commission is paid on a subscription, never on a click and never on which provider you choose. Nobody here sees a per-provider payout figure while writing or scoring a record, because those figures do not exist in the system that holds the records.
There is none on the site today. If it is ever sold, what it buys is a place in a block of its own and nothing else, on these terms:
None of that is built. It is written down first so that the day it exists, the terms are already public and dated.
| Asked for | Answer |
|---|---|
| A higher security or usability score | No. Both are computed from published fields; there is no editorial adjustment to apply |
| A better position in the ranking | No. Order is derived from the scores by rules that live in code |
| Removal of a criticism from a review | No. A finding moves when the evidence moves, and the change is published in the change log |
| Removal of a record from the site | No. A provider may dispute a fact through the provider form, with a source |
| Paid placement above the ranking | If it is ever sold: labelled Ad, outside the ranking, for a stated period. None is sold today |
A provider that corrects a fact against us gets the correction published whether or not it pays for anything. That is the only lever anyone has here, and it works the same way for a reader.
A provider's plain website address and its affiliate address share one field in our system. Rather than mark links case by case and get it wrong occasionally, every outbound provider link is marked nofollow sponsored — including every link where no commission exists, which today is all of them. Over-disclosing is the safe direction, and it removes a judgement call that would otherwise be made a hundred times.
The claim on this page is falsifiable, which is the only kind worth making. Every figure on a provider record names the field it came from and the source behind it, and every change to a field is published with its date in the change log. If a paid provider's score moves, the log says which field moved it.
If you think something here reads as bought, tell us with a source and the answer will be public.
